Wayfinding markers along “Route 67” in Port Elizabeth

The Wayfinding markers along Route 67, Port Elizabeth, start at the Campanile monument and follow the Arts Journey through the city and the Donkin Reserve to the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Museum in Rink Street. The markers display quotes of Nelson Mandela. Here are photos of some of them. Two of the photos in this posting are of a workshop collaboration called “76 Youth”. The artwork is a statement about the ’76 generation and represents the spiritual journey undertaken by those who fought against oppression. The Mandela Bay Development Agency has published an info pack made up of postcards of some of the artworks, an Art Map of Route 67 and an Art Comix booklet covering all points along the Route 67 Arts/Cultural/Heritage Trail.
