She also lived and worked (as a journalist) in Japan and Argentina before settling in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Charlene has written travel articles for books and newspapers including Lonely Planet, Independent newspapers and others. She has worked in television for CBS 60 Minutes, ABC Nightline, BBC, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, NHK and more. The first woman, and youngest-ever, manager of SAfm, the largest English radio station in South Africa, she was also an assistant editor of South Africa’s four biggest business publications.
