“Bottle Top City” joins Route 67, Donkin Reserve, Port Elizabeth.

“Bottle Top City” is the latest Public Art Work addition to Route 67 on The Donkin Reserve, Port Elizabeth. Artist Richard Rath and team created Bottle Top City which is made from recycled bottle tops. The images were sourced from children through a workshop process facilitated by Jacques Nel. Marcus Neustetter from Trinity Session, was mentor to the project.

Route 67 consists of 67 Public Art Works symbolising Nelson Mandela’s 67 years of work dedicated to the Freedom of South Africa and includes 67 steps leading up the second largest flag in Africa. The artworks were designed by local artists from the Eastern Cape. The route is a proud celebration of our city’s heritage and history.
