No longer just up the road from us but still in our neighbourhood. “The 2 Fat Butchers” now situated next to “Pro Natural” in the Bloomindale’s Centre on Main Road Walmer. Just up the road from Dempsey’s is the perfect spot for your meat when self catering at Dempsey’s – The 2 Fat Butchers. The 2 Fat butchers are Andrew and Craig Broughton. Both were born in Port Elizabeth to English parents and raised in the Leicestershire, United Kingdom (the home of the famous Pork Pie). After leaving school Andrew and Craig both joined the food industry, Andrew becoming a master butcher having trained at Smithfield in London and Craig in the frozen food and fish industry. “The 2 Fat Butchers” opened in 2011 and has gone from strength to strength. Here at Dempsey’s we particularly like Andrew and Craig’s dry-cured bacon.
